Felted Needle and Recorder Cozy

Felted Needle and Recorder Cozy

I found the project of the felted needle cozy and decided to make a similar cozy for Sasha’s recorder.    Basically you cast on the amount of stitches according to the length of the knitting needles you want to cover or recorder. Alternate knit and pearl change colors every 2 or 3 rows, adjust for width.  Sow it up, leaving one side open, put it in the washing machine to felt the wool, then twist it around to make the spiral.  Be sure to use wool otherwise it won’t felt.

“A Second treasury of Magical Knitting” by Cat Bordhi don’t know how to add the image of the book just yet, still figuring out how everything works on the blog.  There are some funky projects to make in the book some a little advanced for me.

Three little kittens we made for Sania's birthday

My husband even learnt to knit to inspire my son.  We each decided to make a kitten for Sania’s birthday, Sasha loves preparing gifts for everyone, he loves hand made ones best of all.  Sasha knitted the little black one, I helped him put it together and my husband knitted the one on the right.

About earthboys

Nature is our way of living. It is a gift to cherish and share with our loved ones. Nature is also our gift to our children. It has allowed them to unfold in a graceful childlike way. Growing up in Southern Africa amidst the wildlife, I, myself feel the significance of what nature offers, a call for environmental enlightenment and a unearthing of the relationships between plants, insects and wildlife. We have provided our children with a safe paradise where they can enjoy and be one with nature, playing with worms, watching an ant trail, flitting along after a butterfly, gathering, smelling and admiring a beautiful flower, building sand structures of mountains and lakes. They are always happy when they are outdoors. Their relationship with our animals is one full of love and caring. Our children have brought us great joy and happiness. This blog is dedicated to them, and an inspiration to others.

Les and I love to knit. I will have to take a photo of him wearing his knitted sweater sometime. The kittens are darling.
